Kebbi State Police Hisbah has shaved the head of a guy who styled dreadlocks saying that it is against the teachings of Islam.
This was posted on the official Facebook page of Kebbi Hisbah on Wednesday, August 16.
The post read:
“A young man with hair barakatai has entered the hands of hisbah, he has shaved his head, the hair he gathered against Islamic teachings and Hausa behaviour.”
Earlier in April, personnel of the Hisbah Police in Borno shaved off some youths’ hair for being “unIslamic.”
The youths were also punished for dressing in ways the officials considered offensive to Islam.
According to the state deputy commandant, Mallam Abdulrahman Musa, the Islamic police shaved their hair because the hairstyle was against “the norms and values of the people of Borno State.”
