Chika Nwoba, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, on Monday, narrated his experience at the hands of kidnappers.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Nwoba who said he abducted at Ubahu Ezike in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State was taken to a hidden location. According to him, he transferred all the funds in his account to the criminals.
After transferring the money, he said he was ordered to immediately leave or risk being beheaded.
“We are just managing this place. I narrated to you how I was kidnapped last year (2021) at Ubahu Ezike in Okija and taken to a hidden location.
“I was attending a programme at Ubahu Ezike. A commercial motorcyclist picked me at Okija junction and diverted my way. Before I could know what was happening, I was in a wrong place.
“They asked me where I was coming from. I told them I was a citizen of Ufuma in Orumba North LGA of Anambra State. The Igbo dialect I spoke to them reflected my coming from there. If I had told them I was coming from Ebonyi, they would have killed me knowing nobody would ask about me. They asked me some questions. They told me to transfer everything in my bank account to them as they held a POS machine.
“Luckily I was holding my Fidelity Bank ATM card that had only N100,000 in it. I transferred it to them.
“They told me to leave immediately or be beheaded. I raced away,” Nwoba wrote on his known Facebook page.
Although he said that “the insecurity trend though is reducing”, Nwoba listed Aguata LGA, Oko and Amaokpala in Orumba North LGA, “anywhere at all in Ihiala LGA”, some parts of Nnewi North and South LGAs of Anambra State, as some of the places outsiders should avoid going to flamboyantly.
