Kidnappings: “Please embark on special prayers” – Tinubu tells Islamic Movement

President Bola Tinubu has called on the Islamic Movement to undertake special prayers for peace in Nigeria amidst the recent surge in kidnappings and bandit attacks.

During a meeting with a delegation from Jam’iyyatu Ansaridden, an Islamic Movement, President Tinubu expressed deep concern over the ”disturbing and ungodly incidents.”

While acknowledging the swift actions of security agencies to address the challenges, President Tinubu emphasized the crucial role of education in resolving national issues.

He pledged to deploy necessary resources, policies, and plans for the extensive education of Nigerian youths, highlighting education as a potent weapon against poverty.

The President assured that the government is dedicated to changing the lives of the people and promoting peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

He urged the Islamic Movement to engage in special prayers and emphasized the importance of comprehensive education for children, involving teachers and educational institutions in shaping the country’s future.

President Tinubu also stressed the significance of promoting updated knowledge through existing Islamic learning institutions, particularly in Northern Nigeria, to accelerate development.

“There is no weapon against poverty that is as potent as learning.

“I can assure you that we are here to change the lives of our people. We are here to promote peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

“We are dedicated to building a lasting peace with a focus on the comprehensive education of our children. We will get our teachers and their owners involved in an education process that will be relevant to the future of this country.

“It is important. Knowledge brought me here with your prayers and your support. Without knowledge, there is nothing to generate hope for mankind,” President Tinubu said.

He condemned kidnapping and banditry, describing them as contrary to the ways of God and emphasizing that peace is essential for economic growth.

In response, the leader of Jam’iyyatu Ansaridden, Sheikh Muhammad Lamine Niass, commended President Tinubu’s reform initiatives and pledged continued prayers for Nigeria’s peaceful development.
