Kogi Assembly confirms nine of Bello’s ex-appointees, others as commissioners

The Kogi State House of Assembly has confirmed 15 commissioners recently nominated by Governor Usman Ododo.

Politics Nigeria reports that none of them were former commissioners under the immediate past governor, Yahaya Bello.

The new commissioners who confirmed by the Assembly are Farouk Yusuf, Salami Ozigi-Deedat, Basiru Gegu, Dr Adams Abdulaziz, and Joseph Stephen.

Others are Muizideen  Abdullahi,  Rabiatu Okute,  Kingsley Fanwo, Fatima Momoh,  Mohammed Yusuf, Timothy Ojoma, Sunday Faleke, Abanika Taye, Idris Asiru, and Mohammed Adbulmutalib.

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Aliyu Yusuf, urged the commissioners to work hard for the development of the state.

“Today, you have been officially confirmned as commissioners. You are expected to live up to expectations of Kogites and do not disappoint His Excellency,” he said.

Recall that Governor Ododo, while delivering his inauguration speech on Saturday, announced nine commissioner-designates from the previous cabinet of the immediate past governor.

Governor Ododo also appointed Bello’s younger brother, Ali Bello, as his chief of staff.

The confirmed commissioners are expected to be sworn in on Wednesday alongside other cabinet members.
