Two candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Lokoja I and II State Constituency in the last general election, Ahmed Shehu Yabagi and Ishaiku Kashim Musa have decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, expressed delight over the decision of the two politicians to join the ruling party.
The Governor maintained that his administration accords respect and value to capacity and not necessarily how long a person has been a member of the party.
He urged the politicians to bring their wealth of experience to bear, adding that they should also encourage their supporters to work assiduously for the party’s victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
In their separate remarks, the lawmakers assured the governor of their decision to work in accordance with the ideals of their new political home.
In another defection story in the state, Politics Nigeria understands that the senatorial candidate of Accord Party for Kogi West in the 2023 general elections, Bashorun Moses Eseyin has resigned his membership of the party.
Eseyin, however, did not give a reason for his resignation from the Accord Party.
