A video depicting a heated argument and confrontation between the security details of Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and soldiers at a roadblock on the Abuja-Lokoja expressway has surfaced.
The incident, captured on video, has quickly gained attention on social media and news outlets.
The security details and the soldiers appear engaged in an intense verbal exchange in the video, and the precise nature of the disagreement remains undisclosed.
Recall that Governor Bello, addressing journalists on Sunday, downplayed the incident, describing it as a “mere” altercation between his security details and the military personnel manning the checkpoint.
However, the Information Commissioner, Kingsley Fanwo, issued a statement suggesting that it was an assassination attempt on the governor.
Fanwo alleged that the attackers were dressed in military uniforms and were repelled by the governor’s security operatives.
Contrary to this, Governor Bello’s media aide, Onogwu Mohammed, released a statement from Lokoja, stating that the incident was a “minor disagreement” between the security details attached to the governor and the military personnel performing their security duties.
