Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has released N10 million for the burial of the slain victims of the robbery attack in Isanlu area of the state.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that not less than seven people, including that of the Divisional Police Officer in the area, were killed in the robbery incident.
In a statement on Monday signed by Promise Emmanuel, the Chief Press Secretary to Edward Onoja, the Deputy Governor, the money was delivered to the state Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Ede, on behalf of the families of the slain officers.
“Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has released the sum of 10 million naira to support the burial rites of the slain victims of the unfortunate Isanlu robbery attack which claimed about 10 lives,” he wrote.
The statement added that the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Ayoade Arike, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Sunday Faleke, the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Ashiru Asiwaju and the Security Adviser to the Governor, Comdr. Jerry Omodara (rtd.) were present at the ceremony.
