The Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has sent home 313 students due to their inability to perform academically.
Uredo Omale, the head of the institution’s public relations and protocol unit, made this disclosure in a statement released on Friday, July 7.
Uredo revealed that the withdrawal was informed by the consideration of the report of the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee at the meeting of the Board held at the Polytechnic main Campus, Lokoja.
She added in the statement that the Chairman of the Board, also the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, disclosed that the decision was part of the resolve to maintain high academic standards and churn out only worthy academic ambassadors.
Students affected by this decision are from 17 departments and 28 programmes.
