Kwankwaso regains control of NNPP as court sets aside suspension of party’s national leader

A Kano State High Court has overturned the suspension of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The court, presided over by Justice Usman Mallaa Na’Abba, rendered the decision in suit number K/M1175/2023. The ruling set aside Kwankwaso’s suspension and restrained aggrieved members from acting as national officers of the party.

Justice Na’Abba issued an interim injunction prohibiting the respondents from presenting themselves as national officers, leaders, or members of NNPP.

Furthermore, the ruling nullified the purported suspension of Kwankwaso and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to recognize the suspension until the motion on notice is heard and determined.

The court’s decision has reinstated Kwankwaso’s position within NNPP as the party’s national leader.
