Kwankwaso’s nephew fails to meet bail condition, remains in custody

A nephew of the former governor of Kano State Rabiu Kwankwaso is set to remain in the custody of the State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission (PCACC).

Musa Kwankwaso has spent at least eight hours in custody after he failed to meet his bail conditions.

Kwankwaso, the Managing Director of Novomed pharmaceuticals is currently being probed over an alleged multi-million naira drug supply contract scam.

The drugs were expected to have been distributed to the 44 Local Government Areas in the state.

He was invited by PCACC for a meeting on  the alleged drug scam to the tune of N440 million.

In addition, PCACC successfully secured a post-no-debit order on the account of Novomed Pharmaceuticals.

The agency has also blocked over N160 million while moving to recover the remaining sum of money.

The meeting which took place on Thursday, August 22, started at about 11 am and lasted until 5.30 pm.

From all indications, Kwankwaso will remain in custody having failed to meet the conditions set by the again, a source said.

It was also gathered that his lawyers are working tirelessly to ensure that Kwankwaso does not spend the night in PCACC’s custody.
