Labour Party cuts ties with former youth leader, Anselem Eragbe

The Labour Party (LP) has officially disowned Mr Anselem Eragbe, their former National Youth Leader, stating that he no longer has the authority to speak on their behalf.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this announcement was made by the LP acting National Publicity Secretary, Mr Obiora Ifoh, in a statement released on Monday in Abuja.

According to Ifoh, Eragbe has been sending letters to various groups and media organizations in an attempt to mislead Nigerians about the true state of affairs in the LP. Furthermore, Ifoh stated that Eragbe’s allegations of forgery against the LP’s national chairman are already in court, with a date set for the matter to be determined.

Ifoh further emphasized that if Eragbe was certain about the validity of his claims, he should prove them in court. The statement made it clear that the LP has no connection with Eragbe’s actions, and that he is no longer recognized as a representative of the party.

He said: “In the last few days, Eragbe has churned out several press releases attacking the activities of the party, particularly as it concerns the ongoing court cases.

” We have it on good authority that Eragbe has been heavily compromised to work against the interest of the party in our efforts to reclaim the mandate given to the party at the last presidential election.”
