The Emir of Kuje Amuwo/Oriade Emirate Council, Alhaji Sulaiman Rabiu has turbaned Public Relations specialist, Muhammed Haruna as San Turaki (meaning a close confidant loved by the Emirate council) in effort to strengthen the relations with the kingdom.
Speaking at the turbaning ceremony in Lagos, the Emir explained that the San Turaki was an important position in the Emirate, and it’s only bestowed on respected individuals who have distinguished themselves in the society and has contributed immensely to the development of the emirate.
While describing the appointment as well-deserved, the monarch thanked Haruna for his philanthropy and impactful contributions to the development of the Emirate. The Emir stated that the appointment would further connect and strengthen the ties between the throne and the people.
According to the monarch, “On behalf of the people of Kuje Amuwo/Oriade Emirate, I thank you for your contributions to the development of this Emirate especially during my ascension as Emir. Like I was telling my cabinet members, you have earned the San Turaki title going by your antecedents and I believe your reign as San Turaki will be a new beginning for the people and the Emirate”.
On his part, Muhammed Haruna thanked the Emir for the recognition and described the title as a great honour which will attract more development to the Emirate. He therefore sought the support and cooperation of the throne and the people to deliver on his mandate. He also said the new title will place greater responsibility on him to do what he loves doing most, his philanthropic gestures and selfless community services to his people.
Muhammed Haruna is a public relations (PR) and communications specialist. He works with BUA Group as a Communications Business Partner. He holds a degree in Mass Communication and a Post Graduate Degree in Public Relations from Bayero University, Kano.
