The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has launched clearance operations in the Festac Town axis of the state.
The exercise, carried out in collaboration with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and the Amuwo Odofin Local Government, is aimed at restoring order, removing waste, and improving the environment for residents.
In a post on his official X handle, Lagos Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the operation and commended the newly elected Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government for initiating the partnership.
“I want to sincerely thank the newly elected Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government and his team for reaching out to us for this important collaboration. This is the spirit of governance we must all embrace,” Wahab stated.
He further assured other newly elected council chairmen of the state government’s readiness to partner with them in creating a cleaner and healthier Lagos.
