The Lagos State Government has revealed its plan to replace motorcycles and tricycles in restricted areas with buses of different sizes and capacities in April.
This was discussed at a state security meeting that took place at State House in Marina, Lagos on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Babajide Sanwo-olu.
Speaking after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho said the leadership of the state will be providing buses of different sizes and capacities into the public transportation space to serve as alternative to Okada and Keke.
Mr Omotosho was quoted saying the alternative vehicles “will be coming very soon, most likely in April”.
Beyond this, the government maintained that security operatives flouting the State’s Transport Sector Reform Laws will be punished.
