The Action Democratic Party’s (ADP) candidate in the 2019 Lagos governorship election, Gbadamosi Olalere, will be formally accepted into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.
Gbadamosi, who came third at the 2019 poll, garnered 4780 votes. The candidate of the All Progressive Congress Babajide Sanwo-Olu won all local governments in the state finishing with a total of 739,445 votes.
Although he had earlier announced his decision to join PDP, the event of Monday will make it official as he would be meeting with the Lagos State PDP Executive Committee.
“Tomorrow morning at 11am, I shall be meeting with the Lagos State PDP Executive Committee to formally request re-admission into the People’s Democratic Party. I would be pleased to have you join at this August event,” He posted on his social media page on Sunday.
BOG, as his popularly called, however stands a chance of contesting against Sanwo-Olu if he secures a return ticket in 2023.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Gbadamosi contested in the 2011 Lagos State gubernatorial election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and lost to Babatunde Fashola.
