The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a fake estate developer, Ahmed Ayinde, for allegedly duping prospective tenants of N500m.
The suspect, according to the Command, collected payments from 100 prospective tenants in the Olowo Ira area of Lagos State.
However, upon receiving payments, Ayinde failed to release the keys of the one-storey building on No 5, Ayedun Street, Olowo Ira to the victims.
Speaking on the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect added that the X-Squad Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, had commenced investigation into the matter.
