The police in Zamfara state have said that the new terrorist group Lakurawa is responsible for the explosion that rocked Zamfara State on Tuesday, December 3.
The commissioner of police for the state, Muhammad Dalijan said the group launched an attack in two village Dansadau district, Maru Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Stating that one people was killed by the explosion, Dalijan said there other people sustained various degrees if injuries.
He said, “Yes, there was an explosion along Dansadau road this morning and it was a bomb planted under a bridge. The motorist stepped on it and and it exploded killing one person and injured three others.
“Preliminary investigations indicated that it was remnant of Lakurawa terrorists that were being pressed by the soldiers to leave Nigeria that planted the explosive.
He added that the notorious terrorists are currently trying to figure out their way to Birnin-Gwari forest en-route Zamfara state.
“They are facing serious pressure from the Nigerian security to leave the country,” he said.
