An old video of FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, criticizing the overbearing role godfathers play in the affairs of their states has emerged.
This is even as there are reports of a rift between Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara, and his political godfather, Wike.
Politics Nigeria reports that the Rivers State House of Assembly has begun impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara.
But speaking with ChannelsTV in February, Wike berated some actions of most godfathers on their successors.
His words: “The problem leaders have is that, you succeeded supporting a person to be in office… Did you do that for the person to fail or succeed?
“You want him to be coming to your house to take orders? You want your wife to tell him ‘this is what o want or not?”
“Once you have left office, give yourself that respect and say, I have done my own. If he wants my advise, it’s okay. If he doesn’t, it’s okay.”
