Main reason why Buhari must release Nnamdi Kanu – APGA founder

Founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chekwas Okorie has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to use his special presidential dispensation and prerogatives as enshrined in the constitution to release leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and other ‘prisoners of conscience’.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Okorie made this plea recently at the public presentation of his book, “APGA and the Igbo Question”.

Okorie, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said that his appeal was “made with every sense of patriotism and responsibility”, adding “I strongly believe that the insecurity in certain sections of Nigeria, especially, the South East and the South-South will be reduced by a great extent.”

Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his extradition to Nigeria in June 2021. He is being accused of causing chaos in the southeast region of Nigeria from the diaspora in the course of his separatist advocacy.
