The Presidential Candidate of the labour Party, Peter Gregory Obi, has reacted to reports of attacks on his #Obidient supporters in some areas of Lagos today.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that several supporters of Obi came out in thousands for a road show in the TBS area of the state. However, several supporters have complained on social media of being attacked by Thugs allegedly loyal to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Reacting to the development, Obi called on Security agencies to ensure the safety of Nigerians exercising their civic rights.
“As we go into the final stretch for the 2023 elections, I call on all Nigerians regardless of political affiliation or tendency, to eschew violence. I condemn any form of violence and political thuggery; and especially the incessant attacks on my Obidient supporters.”
“I call on the security forces nationwide to protect those exercising their fundamental rights of free speech and assembly. Our civic space must not shrink further.”, he tweeted on Saturday afternoon.

By a petition should have been sent to the president, IGP, DSS and INEC. If it continues like this, I will not come out to vote and party will loss so many votes. PDP distribute bags of rice with Obi picture on it, the party did nothing and also LP woman leader Kanduna State was killed LP did nothing, please doesn’t the party have a legal team. I am disappointed by the attitude of the executive of the party and the principal and his vice over such a serious issue.

Charles Odungide, go and meet your parents/elders for history of Nigerian politics/Ibos, you will no longer support Obi, a typical iboman who harrassed and drive away non ibos traders from Anambra markets. These traders were chased to Army Barracks where they begged for safety.
My father told me in 1984 how the ibos planned to kill him in 1963 when he went to look for contracts in Enugu, capital of Eastern region then. Architect Onafowokan, an indigene of ikorodu, our town, was the Director of Federal Ministry of Works in Enugu. My father travelled to East to meet his “brother” for contracts. The ibos did not like it. They told my father the contracts in that ministry were Strictly For Ibos. My father didn’t take it serious until My Dad Taxi Driver, to whom my father showed some generosity, came late in the evening to advice my dad to leave the town before midnight.
My dad agreed and was taken out the town in the dark night. My brother Ibos are everywhere in Nigeria, they are allowed to blossom but they hate non ibos to prosper in their land. How Can You Vote For Such People represented by Obi?
Let me share my personal story very similar to my dad. It happened in March, 1985. I went to Federal Polytechnic, Afikpo, to look for a teaching job. Am a Civil/Structural Engineer. I was given a letter by Mr Soares, a Director at National Board for Technical Education, Kaduna. The next day I arrived at Afikpo, I went to Office of Registrar and Bursar. Lo and behold, I was told the same thing they told my father. “The Job Here is Meant For Indegenes” Can you imagine such Madness and Very Selfish Unpatriotic Statement from Federal Officers paid by Federal Government Purse? It was then it sank in my brain what my father told me. The same extreme tribal and selfish treatment meted to my father in 1963 played out 22 years later to me.
