“Mark of Desperation” — Shehu Sani Slams Wike for Halting Economic Activities Over Tinubu’s Visit

Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker, has criticised Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for halting economic, social, and educational activities in the state due to the visit of President-elect Bola Tinubu.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Sani accused Wike of demonstrating desperation for favour and accommodation.

In a tweet posted on Wednesday, Sani expressed his disappointment with Wike’s decision to declare May 3 a public holiday over Tinubu’s two-day visit to the state. During his visit, Tinubu is expected to commission several projects in the state.

Sani, who is known for his critical social commentary, believes that Wike’s decision to halt economic activities because of Tinubu’s visit was a sign of his desperation for a favour.

He wrote, “Commissioning a project is a mark of a great achievement. Kudos. But grounding the economic, social and educational activities of the state for that purpose is a mark of desperation for favour and accommodation by a lickspittle. Tinubu can say no to that or else it becomes the norm.”
