Meanwhile, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has ordered the building of barracks for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Gambouru/Ngala of Borno State.

The two insurgency-affected communities border Cameroon. Special Adviser to the Governor on Communications and Strategy, Isa Gusau, stated on Wednesday in Maiduguri that Zulum gave the directives in Gambouru while distributing relief materials and N216.32 million to internally-displaced women.

He lamented that the police and immigration barracks torched by the insurgents were beyond repair. Apart from the new barracks, he also ordered the reconstruction of some buildings at the Nigerian Arabic Village and a shopping complex to enhance trade in the border communities.

Zulum, therefore, directed the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement (MRRR) to commence the construction of new barracks for the two security services.
