A former Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kano State chapter, Mike Oboh is dead.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Oboh died at his residence in Abuja, on Thursday evening.
Reacting, Sunday Dare, the Minister of Youth and Sports described Oboh as an astute journalist, “whole went about his job with utmost level of professionalism, without fear or favour”.
The Minister described all of his encounters with Oboh as beautiful and always insightful.
“Mike was a quintessential journalist. His professionalism was contagious, his opinions were fact-based and he discharged his duties with a clear conscience.
“I pray he rests well, in God’s blossom,” Dare said in a statement on Friday morning.
Apart from being a sports journalist, late Oboh was also a match commissioner in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
