The governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule has described the defection of his Delta State colleague, Sheriff Oborevwori from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a wonderful move.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Sule said several governors who are members of the PDP are showing interest in joining the ruling party.
He said, “It feels wonderful that you feel vindicated, we came in here many times to say that there are certain reforms that are going on and that you have advantages and they are positive in nature, and they may also have some difficulties in them.
“For some of us sitting down with the governors every day we tell you that this is just one out of many. I heard a joke earlier when you said that there are so many people who are leaving APC to go somewhere.
“I don’t know where you so those many people but the truth of the matter is, it is the other way round,” Sule said.
The governor added that in due time more governors and other key members of the opposition parties would join the APC.
“We have a lot of people who have shown interest, even among the governors who are coming into APC,” he said.
According to Governor Sule, most of these governors in the PDP are always very excited whenever they have the opportunity to meet with President Bola Tinubu.
“And you see the president going to commission projects, you see him interested in what is happening in Rivers, in Delta and even more than the APC states,” Governor Sule added.
