Muslim-Muslim ticket: DSS sends warning message to Buhari

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly told President Muhammadu Buhari that the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to opt for a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket will destabilise Nigeria.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this warning was contained in a classified report recently sent to President Buhari by the agency.

“Simply put, our understanding is that the alliance will destabilise Nigeria and embolden attacks on Christian citizens from their fellow Muslim citizens.

“The distrust Christians are likely to harbour against a presidency occupied by two Muslims won’t make our work easy at national security level,” Peoples Gazette quoted a source with knowledge of the details of the report as saying.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Christian members of the APC in the 19 states of the North, Professor Doknan Sheni, yesterday, shed more light on why they were against the Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the party for the 2023 poll.

Professor Sheni, who regretted that some Northern APC governors convinced Tinubu to go for same faith ticket, said the development could cost the party the presidency and other positions across the country.
