Muslim scholars advise on how to get Nigeria working again

Nigerians have been advised to participate actively in politicians to sanitize the system and achieve the desired governance structure across the country.

The advice was handed to Nigerians by some Muslim scholar at the 75 years anniversary of the Kamal School of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilọrin and a book launch.

Speaking during the event, a former Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Idris Haroon said  Muslim scholars should also participate in politics.

Justice Haroon said if clerics focus on only religion and academics as widely expected, they would be left aside with a rotten system that could possible engulf everyone.

“Our getting involved as upright muslims with such credentials will sanitize the system and improved good governance in the country”, he said.

Also speaking, Suleiman Alapasanpa, the chairman of the occasion and Danmasani of Ilọrin, called on all muslim scholars to restrict themselves to the text whenever they are preaching.

He said doing otherwise will give the enemies of Islam the opportunity to be comparing sermons of scholars for divisive tendencies.

He also admonished owners of madrasahs in Nigeria to focus on the sharing Islamic knowledge as the percunary gains will surely be enjoyed later in life.
