Mamman Ali, the son of a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Ali has been re-arraigned before a Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos
Mamman was re-arraigned alongside a Sierra Leonean, Christian Taylor and Nasaman Oil Services Limited over their alleged involvement in a N2.2 billion subsidy fraud.
The duo were first re-arraigned on a 49-count charge of conspiracy to obtain funds by false pretence, forgery and the of falsified documents.
During their arraignment in 2012, the EFCC had alleged that the duo violated the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act of 2006 and the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
Appearing before Justice Mojisola Dada on a 57-count amended charge, the defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges levelled against them.
After this, the counsel for the EFCC, Seiduh Atteh informed the court about the amended charges against the defendants. He also prayed the court to allow the defendants to enter a new plea.
As this was not objected by the lawyer to the defence, the judge adjourned the matter to April 15 for the adoption of final written addresses.
