Ndume: FG taking good care of Ex-Boko Haram Terrorists than IDPs

Former Majority leader and Chairman Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume has expressed disappointment at the decision of the Federal Government to reintegrate 601 repentant Boko Haram terrorists into the society.

Speaking on a TV programme on Monday, the Senator representing Borno South said the repentant terrorists are treated better than Nigerians who were attacked by the insurgents.

Ndume noted that Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in various camps are not being treated as the repentant terrorists and basic stuff such as food, clothing, medical and shelter issues are not provided. He, however, urged President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to give utmost priority to the IDPs.

The lawmaker added that the repentant Boko Haram terrorists should be kept somewhere and not be allowed into the society where they had killed people.

He stated that when people like the terrorist surrenders, “you take them in, then your profile them properly, he added that he does not think these people are well profiled.

The Senator noted that when the war is going on, you keep the repentant Boko Haram members somewhere and not release them back into the society with their victims with pampered privileges.

The lawmaker added that he has been victimised for standing out for the truth on issues relating to this, he promised not to back down even when it means he has to stand alone.

Ndume when asked if the President should sack the service chiefs stated that it is not the matter of who is there but, do we have the equipment to fight the war.
