A serving Ebonyi South Senator, Dave Umahi, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was solely responsible for his nomination as a minister from his state.
Umahi further vowed to work assiduously in justifying the confidence reposed in him by the president, adding that he had no clue about the ministry to the superintendent.
The former Ebonyi State governor spoke in Abakaliki while addressing journalists after he was received by the incumbent Governor Francis Nwifuru.
Umahi said he sincerely appreciates President Tinubu for “fulfiling his promise during the trying period”.
He added: “My governor (Nwifuru) should be happy because he wished for it.”
He further promised to work with President Tinubu to ensure that all promises he made were kept.
“I cannot determine the particular ministry to head, but I will justify the Ebonyi character of resourcefulness and exceptionality,” he stated.
