
Faduri Joseph, a former presidential aspirant of the Labour Party has said that the next chairman of the party should emerge from the Northern region of country.
Joseph’s advice follows the sack of the factional national chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure by the Supreme Court.
Speaking at the National Executive Council meeting led by Nenadi Usman , Joseph, a US-based Nigerian nurse urged the party to look towards the North, especially now that Abure is no longer chairman.
The leader of Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, Joseph who was represented by Emmanuel Olorunmagba at the NEC meeting said he is glad the the Usman-led Caretaker Committee of the party can now take over affairs of Labour Party.
“It’s obvious that the next presidential candidate of the Labour Party will definitely come from the South, and it will not be good for both the National Chairman and the Presidential Candidate to come from the south.
“Justice and equity demand that if we have a southerner as a presidential candidate, then the national chairman should come from the north,” Joseph said.
Joseph added that the Labour Party is now ready to get involved in the 2027 elections as it cannot afford fail Nigerians in the bid to oust power from President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress.
