Nigeria Air Not a Fraud, It Will Fly – Buhari’s Ex-aide Replies Reps

Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has reacted to allegations by the House of Representatives describing the Nigeria Air project embarked on by the former Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, as a fraud.

The green chamber had called for the suspension of the project as controversy continues to trail the arrival of an Ethiopian Airline airplane bearing a Nigeria Air logo hours to the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term in office.

Reacting to lawmakers, Ahmad insisted that the aviation ministry has made significant progress towards the realisation of a national carrier for the country.

“Nigeria Air is NOT a fraud, the Aviation Ministry has made significant progress towards its realisation. Branding unveiled, partnerships and agreements signed, most of the operational certificates issued, and operational offices opened. Nigeria Air will fly to make Nigeria proud,” Bashir tweeted.

The Aviation ministry allegedly paid the sum of $600,000 for the Nigeria Air logo which was unveiled at the Farnborough Airshow in London in July 2018.
