The Nigerian government is hopeful to receive a $1.65 billion loan approval from the World Bank in 2025, a publication on the bank’s website shows.
In 2025, the global bank would be making decisions on three key projects proposed by the Nigerian government.
The loan, Politics Nigeria understands is aimed at addressing some of the developmental deficiencies faced by the country.
For the first loan project titled, Solutions for the Internally Displaced and Host Communities Project, a commitment amount of $300m has been proposed and is slated from World Bank’s approval on April 8, 2025.
The loan, the government claims would help address the challenges of education and nutrition faced by IDPs across the country.
Also, the second project is titled, HOPE for Quality Basic Education for All, with a commitment amount of $553.8 million and March 20, 2025, approval date.
For the third and last project, Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria 2.0, there is a proposed financing fund of $800 million and an approval date of February 20, 2025.
The global financial institution will be holding a meeting on February 20, 2025, to decide on the projects and give subsequent approval were necessary.
