Nigerian Army uncovers gun manufacturing factory in Kaduna state

The Nigerian Army has uncovered a gun manufacturing factory in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a statement on its social media accounts, the Army also revealed that its operatives apprehended a wanted criminal named Napoleon John.

Additionally, the operatives recovered 22 weapons, including seven pistols, two locally fabricated AK 47 rifles, two military-grade AK 47 rifles, and nine revolvers.

Part of the statement read: “The discovery followed week-long intelligence operations that finally led to the capture of a wanted gunrunner, Napoleon John, who has been wanted for long.

“The troops were led by a suspect who confessed to the crime, and they discovered a hidden factory where different types of arms were being sold. Another person involved in the illegal business, named Monday Dunia, admitted to fueling the crisis in Kaduna and neighbouring Plateau states for over five years.

“A thorough search of the factory led to the recovery of 22 different weapons, including 7 pistols, 2 locally fabricated AK 47 rifles, 2 military grade AK 47 rifles and 9 revolvers.

“Others include one submachine gun, rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, machine tools and a gas cylinder.”
