A Presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bukola Saraki, has labelled Nigeria “the kidnapping capital of the world”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Saraki said this when he spoke recently with PDP delegates in Akure, Ondo State, ahead of the party’s primaries.
“This is not the country we deserve. Nigeria has become the kidnapping capital of the world. After I become President, there will be no more banditry and kidnapping in this country. I assure you that I will do more as president. We can fix, rescue and rebuild this country,” Saraki said.
Since the coming of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, a lot of Nigerians have been abducted and held for ransom by criminal gangs in the dense forests of the country’s remote north.
These gangs, locally called bandits, have been operating in the region for more than a decade, but when they were infiltrated by members of the Islamist militant group Boko Haram in December 2020, the abductions and violence escalated.
Saraki, listen carefully, they kidnap those who does not belong to God. God protects everyone who put their trust in Him. What is happening in Nigeria is Judgement of God against those who refuse to obey Him and the president cannot stop it.
