Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has declared that Nigeria is firmly on the path to prosperity under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
In his Eid-El-Kabir message released on Thursday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau reaffirmed the National Assembly’s commitment to enacting legislative measures that will further support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Barau, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, commended President Tinubu’s strides in tackling Nigeria’s longstanding security and economic challenges over the past two years.
“President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated strong leadership and genuine commitment in addressing our country’s challenges.
“In the last two years, he has succeeded to a considerable extent in tackling our security challenges and stimulating our economy. We are on the path to prosperity,” Barau stated.
He added that the National Assembly remains dedicated to formulating laws that will strengthen the successes already achieved under the Tinubu administration.
“To consolidate the gains of this administration, the National Assembly will continue to develop the necessary legislation to support the President in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to restore Nigeria’s glorious days.”
The Kano-born lawmaker used the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir to call on Nigerians across all faiths to embrace national unity, peace, and economic development.
He urged citizens to draw lessons from the celebration, particularly the values of sacrifice, obedience, and charity.
His words: “This season reminds us to obey Allah’s instructions, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. True Muslims should live by the values of peace, tolerance, justice, and charity.
“Let us, regardless of faith, recommit to building a united and economically sound nation.”
Barau also called on Nigerians to support the President’s efforts, pray for national peace, and show compassion to the less privileged, especially during the festive period.
“I wish Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians, a memorable Eid-El-Kabir,” he said.
