Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has shaken up his starting XI for the crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash against Ivory Coast later today.
Alhassan Yusuf and Moses Simon, who featured in the opening draw against Equatorial Guinea, have been dropped as Peseiro opts for a fresh attacking formula.
The former Sporting Braga boss has gone with a 3-4-3 formation.
Shot-stopper Stanley Nwabali retains his place between the sticks. Meanwhile, Fulham’s young defender Calvin Bassey joins experienced campaigners William Troost-Ekong and Semi Ajayi to complete a three-man backline.
Out wide, Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi, who impressed in the opener, retain their wing-back roles. England-based duo Frank Onyeka and Alex Iwobi will marshal the midfield.
In attack, it’s all Italian. Leading the Super Eagles attack is Victor Osimhen, with Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman – stars from Napoli, AC Milan, and Atalanta, respectively – completing the attack.
