Hardship: “There is a slow revolt around the country” – Former NBA president alerts Tinubu

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olisa Agbakoba, has warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alerting him to the brewing economic discontent that could lead to a “slow revolt” nationwide.

In an interview with BusinessDay, Agbakoba expressed deep concern over the economic hardship faced by millions of Nigerians and called for urgent interventions to avert potential social unrest.

Agbakoba highlighted the palpable frustration and anger prevailing in the nation due to the worsening cost-of-living crisis.

He noted that the present discontent is remarkable, particularly concerning the growing inability of Nigerians to cope with the skyrocketing cost of living.

The former NBA president emphasized that the adage “a hungry man is an angry man” encapsulates the prevailing sentiment among the populace.

Expressing apprehension about the future of Nigeria, Agbakoba pointed out the rapidly growing revolt across the country owing to the high cost of living.

He called on President Tinubu to take decisive action to address the discontent by communicating hope and outlining a clear plan for overcoming the economic challenges.
