The Federal Government has ordered fumigation of supplies brought in from China to aid the country’s fight against the spread of Coronavirus(COVID-19).
POLITICS NIGERIA has obtained photographs of the exercise carried out by a team of environmental experts from the Ministry of Environment at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport in Abuja.
It will be recalled that several politicians and activists have voiced their rejection of aid from China alleging that it could be a ploy to further spread the virus in Nigeria.
Politicians like Senator Dino Melaye, Femi Fani-Kayode etc expressed a high level of disagreement with the government’s move to seek help from the Chinese owing to the fact that the deadly virus originated from there.
Also, Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB on Thursday, warned the federal government to be very wary of the supplies.
However, the federal government has assured Nigerians of their safety adding that the Chinese Doctors/Supplies will really help in curtailing the spread of the pandemic. 15 Chinese doctors landed in Nigeria on Wednesday to share their expertise and knowledge on dealing with the COVID-19 virus.
