Nigeria’s economy now stable – CBN Governor boasts

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, has said that the economy of the country is now stable.

Cardoso said that several investors are now interested in investing in Nigeria following the stability of the nation’s economy.

In a video seen by Politics Nigeria, the CBN governor said fundamental indices have all shown that Nigeria is now a viable economy for anyone to invest in.

“They’ve been positive endorsements from all kinds of bodies that make it a point of duty to observe and critique the moves that various countries are making to ensure that they have stability in their economies.

“Well, that may seem positive, but how does that translate to getting the feeling that things are better,” Cardoso said.

The CBN governor also stated stability comes with some level of confidence, which in turn makes room for investment, growth and output.

“Now, I think it is important to say that investors… and let’s face it, without investors, economies don’t grow.

“Investors don’t go to where there is instability, so I think that is the first thing to understand. On this journey, investors don’t go out to Los money, they go out to invest because of the stability in an economy, and they can plan,” he added.

He further noted that this is the same trajectory that anyone would find in all countries on the path of growth around the world.

”We obviously have been through a long period of instability, and I think that clearly what is being recognised is that the Nigerian economy is now stable and there is interest in those who want to invest, to now invest,” Cardoso stated.
