Nigeria’s music icon, activist Onyeka Onwenu to be buried in Lagos on Friday

The late Nigerian music icon, politician and activist will be buried in Lagos on Friday, August 30.

Onyeka passed at the Reddington Hospital, Ikeja on July 30, after she collapsed while performing at the birthday ceremony of Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.

As announced by her family, the burial service will take place at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilepeju on Friday.

This will be followed by a private interment session at a vault in Ikoyi.

Also, the family in a flyer announced that a service of songs in her honour will take place between 10 am and 12 noon while the burial is scheduled for 2-4 pm.

Survived by two sons, Onyeka passed at the age of 72 years old.
