NLC/TUC Protest against Minimum Wage holding in Abuja [PHOTOS]

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC embarked on a nationwide protest against a proposed amendment to the minimum wage for Nigerian Workers.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the protest which started at Unity Fountain witnessed a large turnout as members of other labour unions joined the march.

The protest was first announced on Tuesday after it became clear that there were attempts by some lawmakers at the National Assembly to remove the Minimum Wage from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent Legislative List.

The National President of Nigerian Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba while addressing the workers at the Unity Fountain in Abuja stated that the right of Nigerian workers to enjoy the minimum wage which is in line with the International Labour Organisation.

He condemned some State Governors and members of the National Assembly for attempting to make life harder for workers.
