‘No man can take what God has given’ – Emir Sanusi declares after reinstatement

Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has reacted to his reinstatement as the 16th Emir of Kano by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Speaking after receiving his appointment l letter, Emir Sanusi commended Governor Yusuf and members of the House of Assembly for the courage to “save” Kano state and Nigeria through his reinstatement.

The monarch said his reinstatement is a testament that no man can stand against the plan of God.

“The Arabians used to say in everything that we are going to witness, there is a lesson that shows us that God is there. Whatever that is happening to an individual is preordained by Allah and to those that are sensible enough, it’s a lesson,” Sanusi said on Friday.

Meanwhile, a Federal High Court sitting in Kano has issued an order stopping the Kano State Government from enforcing the Kano State Emirate Council Repeal Law.

Justice Mohammed Liman granted the order in an application by Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba of the Kano Emirate.

In the latest lawsuit concerning the Emir’s seat, the respondents in the fundamental rights case are the Kano State Government, the House of Assembly, the Speaker, the Attorney-General, the Commissioner of Police, the Inspector-General of Police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the State Security Service.
