North-Central coalition seeks to produce president in 2023

The Coalition of North Central Groups or CNCG has urged Nigerians to support the election of a president from the North-Central area in 2023.

CNCG Chairman Salahudeen Lukman said yesterday in Abuja that the region has never delivered a civilian president or vice president since independence.

The chairman said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the ordinary people’s only chance for escaping poverty, starvation, and insecurity.

“Concede the presidential ticket to the region for equity and justice,” he told PDP stakeholders.

He warned the opposition party to steer clear of “the viruses that have afflicted the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and their administration”, and that the PDP “should make conscious and concerted efforts to ensure that equity and justice prevail”.

Mr Lukman also said that provocations from other zones to deliver the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023 are not news.

The alliance stated the PDP was poised to seize power from the APC in 2023 while complimenting the party’s new national leadership.

In order to do so, Mr Lukman said his organisation has been reaching out to youngsters in other zones to develop political unity to secure the North-Central presidential nomination ahead of the 2023 national elections.
