North Central Governor swears in 5 new permanent secretaries

Five new permanent secretaries were sworn in on Monday by the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.

The governor, during the swearing-in ceremony in Jos, said his administration hopes to transform the civil service in the state through key reforms.

Mutfwang also condemned some of the aberrations going on in the civil service system.

He further mandated the newly sworn-in permanent secretaries to ensure that to use their wealth of experience to make the civil service a better place for workers.

“You are coming when a lot is going wrong in the civil service; what we have seen over the years is not what we can be proud of.

“So, we are going to be deliberate in ensuring that we raise the bar of governance in every ministry, department and agency,” the governor said.

He also urged them to ensure they serve as great leaders to workers across the service and render mentorship to younger staff in their various ministries and departments.
