The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fulfil his campaign promises on security and poverty alleviation in the country.
In a statement signed by its Director of Publicity and Advocacy, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, and seen by Politics Nigeria, the NEF noted that President Tinubu made some important promises to Nigerians during the campaign period.
The Forum urged the Tinubu-led administration to ensure inclusion, justice and fight corruption at all levels.
“Issues such as inclusion, ensuring justice and fighting corruption should be prioritized as well. Policies that compound poverty should be avoided, and where difficult decisions need to be taken, they should be accompanied by compassion, sensitivity and adequate public awareness,” the statement read.
The NEF commended Tinubu for his vision of “re-discovering Nigeria’s greatness” which, according to the group, will be reflected in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
The Forum pledged its commitment to work with President Tinubu and the governors to actualize their promises to make Nigerians secured, improve the economy and reduce poverty.
