Northern governors have arrived Yola, the Adamawa State capital, for a crucial meeting.
The governors are in Yola for the 9th quarterly meeting of the North-East Governors’ Forum (NEGF) slated for today.
Politics Nigeria gathered that governors from the six states of Bauchi, Sen Bala Mohammed; Gombe, Muhammad Inuwa; Yobe Mai Mala Buni; Borno, Professor Babagana Zulum; and Taraba, Agbu Kefas, have arrived at the state capital to join their host, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa ahead of the meeting.
Issues of common interest affecting the subregion, especially in the areas of insecurity and infrastructural development, will take center stage.
Stakeholders, including the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), Development Partners, as well as other relevant bodies, are to attend the meeting.
The Chairman of the Forum, Governor Zulum, declared the event opened at the Government House, Jimeta – Yola.
After a closed-door session of the meeting, the Forum is expected to brief journalists on its resolutions.
