NPower: FG sends message to youths over Batch D registration

The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, on Friday asked Nigerian youths to “disregard the fake news” about Npower Batch D registration.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that some messages are being circulated online about the launch of Npower Batch D application portal. One of the spurious messages sighted by this newspaper said that registration closes in two weeks.

Reacting via its verified Twitter handle, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs branded the information as fake news.

The Npower scheme is targeted at youths, ages 18 and 35. Launched in 2016, the scheme is currently in its third phase, with the engagement of 510,000 beneficiaries in the Stream C1.

These beneficiaries, who earn a monthly stipend of N30,000, are expected to be exited later this year.

Meanwhile, the exited beneficiaries (Batches A and B) are scheduled to begin a training that will qualify them for NEXIT loan next week. These former beneficiaries were ejected from the Npower programme in 2020.
