NSCDC identifies 60 flashpoints in Edo ahead of governorship election

The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has identified 60 flashpoints across the state’s three senatorial districts ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

Commandant Gbenga Agun disclosed this during an interview in Benin City, noting that personnel have already been deployed to these high-risk areas to ensure maximum security.

In preparation for the election, 6,464 NSCDC personnel have been briefed, and measures have been put in place to prevent infiltration by unauthorized individuals.

Deputy Commandant-General Philip Ayuba emphasized the importance of adhering to the official dress code to avoid confusion or potential security breaches.

“We call on everyone to exhibit good habits; don’t be temperamental. Try to be friendly in telling people to do what they are supposed to do and then, try to also present us well.

“Make sure you abide by the rules of the game. The rule of the game is to be in your normal uniform. Anybody that is not in the right uniform according to the guidelines for this election will be denied,” he said.

Officers were also warned to maintain professionalism and follow the rules governing election conduct.
