Obasa Still Occupying Official Residence, Office of Lagos Speaker

The impeached speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa is still occupying the official residence of the Speaker, a source has said.

The source said that Obasa who was impeached and immediately replaced by Mojisola  Meranda, while he was away in the United States of America is yet to vacate the official premises for his successor.

While Obasa, upon his return, has said that he was impeached unconstitutionally, lawmakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly have insisted that the former speaker was properly removed.

The former speaker’s impeachment followed an agreement by 32 out of 40 members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

However, the source said that things would gradually be sorted out within the leadership and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

He also stated that his aide have vacated the premises of the Lagos State House.

The source said: ”Things would be sorted out administratively. He will vacate the residence in due course. He will also leave the office of the Speaker at the premises for his office as as a floor member.”
