Governor Obaseki, during the handing over of the vehicles at Government House, Benin City, noted that the motorcycles will boost the operations of ESSVN and enable members of the group to access remote areas and provide security for Edo people.

“We are handing over 150 motorcycles to members of Edo State Vigilante Security Network to enable them to access remote areas and provide security to our people in Edo State. Please accept these motorcycles on behalf of the Edo State Government,” he said.

18 Sienna buses purchased by the Edo State Chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria were also donated to ESSVN.

Hon. Monday Osaigbovo, the state’s commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, disclosed that the buses donated to ESSVN will also boost and motivate their operatives in securing the people.

Osaigbovo said: “18 Toyota Sienna buses were purchased by the Association of Local Government of Nigeria Edo state branch to support ESSVN.

“The governor has directed ALGON to focus more on Internally Generated Revenue and hopes that as we get more IGR, we also raise more funds to buy more, but this is to support ESSVN.”
